Last Thursday, Dr Adilah Zafirah & Mrs Rahimah Jurij attended the Care Reimagined and Thoughtful Endeavours (CREATE) Symposium organised by Khazanah Research Institute (KRI).
It discussed potential and pioneering approaches in care and related fields which covers policy analysis, real life experince of various groups of people such as healthcare workers, residents of old folk home, refugees & migrant workers, as well as the perspective of marginalised communities such as fishermen and hawkers.
It’s not easy to manage a big project consisting of 12 research topics but it’s more challenging to build a robust and clear framework to capture the meaning of care in our local cultural context & understand the policy implications of these studies.
Care is not a binary distinction between formal and informal, it exists on a spectrum. More importantly, truly holistic care extends beyond physical needs to include mental and spiritual well-being.
Thank you KRI for inviting us. All the best for publishing the book & we’re looking forward to the book launch!
