Last week, Mrs Rahimah Jurij & Dr Adilah Zafirah attended the IERIF Partnership for Policy Impact Series: Building Sustainable and Inclusive Ageing-at-Home Ecosystems in Malaysia.
The main agenda is to discuss policy solutions and collaborative strategies towards building a sustainable and inclusive ageing-at-home ecosystem in Malaysia. This session focused on the potential role of assistive technology & Islamic social financial tools in achieving this goal.
It’s acknowledged that ageing poses a huge challenge not only for individuals but also families & our nation itself due to underlying systemic problems. Health and financial problems among the elderly as well as the struggle of the sandwich generation to take care of the elderly stem from systemic poverty, education, economic & social barriers.
Whilst assistive technology & Islamic social financial tools may play important roles in building sustainable & inclusive ageing ecosystems in Malaysia, their full potentials are limited as long as these systemic issues are not resolved.
Thank you ISRA Institute, INCEIF University for inviting us. Looking forward to discussing practical solutions for real problems in upcoming IERIF Partnership for Policy Impact Series!
